MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center Retains B.E. Smith in Four Director Searches

B.E. Smith is partnering with MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center to find four directors in Laboratory Services; Quality and Accreditation; Case Management; and Integrity, Compliance, Privacy, and Risk Management. You can read more about each position below. 

Director of Laboratory Services 

The Director of Laboratory Services will be responsible for lab and related services for two hospital campuses. The ideal leader will oversee 56+ FTEs and work to improve recruitment, culture, equipment, and processes in the department.

Qualifications

  • Must have hands-on, technical knowledge, as well as understanding of regulatory standards for lab services.
  • Growth-based leader who can bring in lab business; an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Must be a Medical Technologist and have a bachelor’s degree; master’s preferred.

Director of Quality and Accreditation

The Director of Quality and Accreditation will oversee and ensure the progression of the following programs: Quality and Outcomes Management, Healthcare Informatics, Patient Safety, Infection Prevention and Decision Support Analysis. This leader will provide leadership to 15 FTEs and work to build relationships across departments.

Qualifications

  • Must have experience leading quality programs in a healthcare setting and a clinical/nursing background.
  • Master’s degree strongly preferred.

Director of Case Management

The Director of Case Management will oversee nearly two dozen employees within Case Management, Social Services, Discharge Planning, and Utilization Management. This leader will be tasked with improving key metric areas such as length of stay, discharge, denials, and readmissions. The director will also guide the transition to a new hospitalist group and build relationships with these providers, as well as focus on stability and connect with ACO leadership to achieve organizational goals.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree and relevant experience as a case management leader are required.
  • Both nursing and social work candidates will be considered.

Director of Integrity, Compliance, Privacy, and Risk Management

The Director of Integrity, Compliance, Privacy, and Risk Management is responsible for the design, oversight, implementation and maintenance of the MercyOne-Western Region Integrity, Compliance and Privacy Programs and ensures that MercyOne complies with various laws and regulations pertaining to its business activities and privacy of information.

The program includes development and maintenance of systems, policies, and procedures designed to sustain MercyOne and its business partners in fulfilling their legal, professional and ethical responsibilities consistent with the Mission, Vision and Values of MercyOne. Provides oversight to MercyOne’s clinic’s in establishing an effective corporate responsibility program. 

Qualifications

  • Must demonstrate knowledge regarding insurance coverage, local claims processes, interfacing with outside legal counsel, and data management.
  • Must have a background in hospital risk management and relevant certifications (i.e. Healthcare Risk Management, Healthcare Compliance, and Healthcare Privacy).
  • Master’s degree required (Nursing, Business Administration, Law, Quality, Rick Management, or other related field).
