Cody Burch, MBA, CPA

As Executive Vice President, Cody Burch provides both strategic and operational oversight of B.E. Smith’s core business including the senior executive search, talent strategies, human resources, finance, and information technology departments. Mr. Burch brings extensive knowledge and a diverse background with direct experience in healthcare recruitment, business operations and financial management. Joining B.E. Smith in 2005, Mr. Burch has held expanding roles across the organization including providing leadership in the Interim Leadership and Executive Search divisions. He is well recognized within the healthcare, financial, and human resources communities for his expertise in recruitment strategies, operational performance, and financial management. His commitment to service excellence is invaluable to B.E. Smith and its clients, offering a high level of accessibility, accountability, and professionalism.

Mr. Burch holds a Master of Business Administration from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri and Bachelor Degrees in Economics and Business Administration from William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri. He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Bryan Christianson, MBA

As Senior Vice President of Strategic Accounts at B.E. Smith, Bryan Christianson has executive responsibility for overseeing regional teams focused on maintaining current and creating new client service partnerships. Mr. Christianson brings a breadth of healthcare experience that includes administrative roles within Academic Medical Center and Community Hospital settings along with individual contributor and leadership roles in sales, marketing, and business development. Specific areas of expertise include business and strategic planning along with operational improvement and technology implementation initiatives within the service lines of perioperative services, cardiology, and radiology. Since joining B.E. Smith in 2010, Mr. Christianson has supported healthcare providers in overcoming a variety of clinical, financial, and operational challenges. Through his leadership, B.E. Smith has established and maintains successful partnerships with industry leading organizations.

Mr. Christianson holds a Masters of Business Administration from the Tippie School of Management at the University of Iowa. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Hospital Administration from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota.

Deon Barber

As Senior Vice President, Senior Executive Search, Deon Barber spearheads the firm’s Executive Search division, which is dedicated to providing exceptional candidates for our clients’ Executive positions. An outstanding recruiting professional, Mr. Barber brings more than 26 years of experience in organizational growth, operational efficiency, top-line revenue growth, and innovation. Mr. Barber has a strong work history in a broad array of executive search functions, including RPO, MSP, workforce solutions, and a full complement of experience within the search industry. Mr. Barber excels at transforming organizations through mentorship and coaching, problem-solving, and collaboration. He fosters a positive and inclusive work environment for all team members and clients. He has experience within the talent acquisition and search markets, bridging the gap to develop solutions which help the customer to take on critical challenges they have regarding talent acquisition. Mr. Barber has shown a proven ability to develop and lead teams, coach them up, and build high-performance cultures. Additionally, and consistent with B.E. Smith’s values, Mr. Barber has a heart for his community. He has previously founded two non-profit organizations focused on bettering the community and past board member for Positive Coaching Alliance.

Mr. Barber attended McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland for his undergraduate studies while continuing his advanced studies at Howard University in Washington, DC.

Lisa Carr, MBA

As Senior Vice President, Talent Strategies, Lisa Carr leads the firm’s Talent Strategies Division, which focuses on identifying and building strong relationships with the healthcare industry’s top executive talent. An accomplished healthcare executive, Ms. Carr brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in talent acquisition and management, including the healthcare industry. Her diverse background includes supporting recruitment and human resources initiatives for large health systems and academic medical centers, as well as both not-for-profit and public organizations. Ms. Carr excels at building high performance teams and aligning business strategies with talent acquisition and recruitment initiatives. She has successfully developed strategic plans to address workforce planning, internal succession management, and employment branding. Additionally, healthcare providers and candidates value her ability to quickly build strong, collaborative relationships.

Ms. Carr earned a Master of Business Administration from St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud. Minn., and a Bachelor of Arts in Human Resources and Personnel Administration from the University of Kansas in Lawrence.

Ben Harber, MBA

As Vice President at B.E. Smith, Ben Harber leads the firm’s Professional Services organization. He is an accomplished healthcare executive, bringing 25 years of progressive operational leadership experience to his responsibilities. Central to his role is providing strategic vision, leadership, and direction to B.E. Smith’s shared services model. Through these efforts, Mr. Harber delivers increased value and improved efficiencies for client partner organizations. He is considered an expert in the areas of multi-site healthcare operations, large medical group management, ACO operations, product management, large-scale revenue operations, reinsurance, and health plan provider contracting. An operations turn-around leader, B.E. Smith clients value his insight and expertise in acquisition planning and integration.

Mr. Harber received his Bachelor of Administration in Finance and a Master of Business Administration from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri. He obtained his Six Sigma Black Belt and Lean certification from General Electric. Mr. Harber is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).
