Christine Mackey-Ross, BSN, MBA
As President of AMN Executive and Physician Leadership Search, Christine brings 40 years of experience in healthcare, the first 15 as an oncology clinical nurse specialist, the remaining 25+ in executive search. Christine has successfully identified executives for C-suite, President and Chief Executive Officer positions in a wide variety of settings: academic and health science systems, large and small community hospitals, urban and rural facilities, physician groups and managed care organizations. The common theme in the work she selects is, “furthering the mission of those institutions focused on improving lives.”
Christine understands the intricacies of aligning clinical and business priorities. In addition to her executive role at AMN Healthcare, Christine remains actively involved in all facets of search execution for her portfolio of engagements. Prior to joining AMN Leadership Solutions, Christine was a Senior Partner at Witt/Kieffer, a global executive search firm. While there, her leadership roles included Central Region Director; Leader-Physician Executive and Integration Practice; Founder/Managing Director, Witt/Kieffer International and seven years on the Board of Directors.
After hours, Christine serves on a community hospital system Board of Trustees as a Historic Preservation Commissioner. She is also a Citizen Deputy Juvenile Officer for her municipality’s Restorative Justice Committee.
Cecilia Beard, MHA
As Vice President, Recruitment, Cecilia Beard leads talent engagement, which focuses on identifying and building strong relationships with the healthcare industry’s top executive talent. An accomplished and collaborative operational leader, Cecilia brings more than 20 years of experience delivering best in class healthcare RPO (Recruitment Process Outsourcing), full cycle recruiting, talent acquisition, retained search, project management and consultative services. Her experience encompasses all facets of healthcare recruitment in virtually all healthcare settings including hospitals, health system, group practices and academic institutions.
Cecilia earned her Master of Health Administration and Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management from St. Louis University.
Bernard Godley, M.D., Ph.D., MBA
Dr. Godley is the Lead Physician Executive dedicated to the critically important mission of recruiting visionary physicians and scientists to key leadership positions. He recently completed a certificate in Diversity and Inclusion at Cornell University to better serve his clients.
As a former academic medicine physician leader, he possesses an outstanding educational background as well as exemplary research credentials, which enable him to assist clients in refining the expectations for the clinical and/or scientific leaders they seek. He is also able to insightfully identify and connect with a talent pool of highly qualified candidates within this domain.
Dr. Godley comes to AMN Leadership Solutions after serving Korn Ferry for five years as a Senior Client Partner representing its academic health center practice with a focus on senior leadership placements at the Chair, Dean, and Presidential levels. Prior to his career in academic leadership recruitment, Dr. Godley served as Professor and Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston. As Chair, he is credited with the rapid turnaround of the Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences Department at UTMB – significantly improving patient satisfaction, operational efficiency and growth in faculty and services.
Dr. Godley’s research focused on molecular mechanisms of macular degeneration. He identified the genetic locus for progressive bifocal chorioretinal atrophy as a trainee and pioneered the study of mitochondrial DNA damage and repair in retinal cells as a contributor to macular degeneration as an NIH-funded investigator. Having previously served on the National Eye Institute Council and Study Section, Dr. Godley holds a US patent for a novel noninvasive ocular drug-delivery technology. Dr. Godley has received a number of awards for both clinical and scholarly contributions, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology Achievement Award.
He earned a bachelor’s degree at Brown University and completed the combined M.D. and Ph.D. program at Harvard Medical School and MIT. After completing a medical internship at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, he did an ophthalmology residency at the University of Iowa, followed by a retina fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital and the University of London, and the Retina Institute of Maryland. Dr. Godley also obtained an MBA at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management where he focused on leadership and finance. He was elected as a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American College of Surgeons.
Todd Drometer, M.S., CPA
Todd’s background combines strong experience in healthcare executive search with distinguished work in healthcare consulting. Todd has extensive experience conducting senior-level searches for the array of health-related entities, from academic medical centers, to community hospitals, hospital systems, medical groups and payors. In addition to a deep knowledge of general healthcare operations, he possesses special expertise in analytics and IT. This focus has enabled him to identify and recruit those leaders who can best succeed in today’s metrics-driven healthcare environment.
Todd served as a key member of Russell Reynolds Associates’ Health Services Practice and was a leader of the firm’s Digital Health Practice. Before beginning his executive search career, he worked for 18 years in healthcare consulting, specializing in risk management, finance, and operations. At Arthur Andersen, he was a member of the firm’s Healthcare Business Consulting Practice and, later, he was a Managing Director and Leader of the Northeast Healthcare Industry Practice for Marsh, a leading international insurance services firm. He was also a Managing Principal of the Healthcare Industry Practice for Integro Insurance Brokers, a global risk and insurance services firm.
Todd has a B.A. in Economics from Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y., and an M.S. in Accounting from the Barney School of Business at the University of Hartford in West Hartford, Conn.
Jennifer Schaulin, MBA
Jennifer serves as Vice President and Pediatric Practice Leader. She has more than 13 years of experience managing client relationships, complex search processes and developing candidates for complex leadership searches at academic medical centers and integrated health systems. She has successfully placed many high-level leadership roles including the following positions: VP, Medical Affairs and Dean, School of Medicine, Academic Chair, Academic Division Chief, Hospital President, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Medical Officer and Chief Quality Officer.
Previously, Jennifer was a Director with A.T. Kearney Executive Search and a Principal with Ray & Berndtson Executive Search in the consumer products and services practices located in Fort Worth, Texas. In both of these executive search firms, she was responsible for executing search assignments for senior level executives across a broad range of functions in consumer products, medical products and technology companies. Prior to her executive search experience, Ms. Schaulin had an eight-year career in medical capital equipment sales in both the radiology and cardiology marketplaces. She spent three years as an advanced diagnostic sales specialist for intravascular ultrasound in the West Region for Cordis Corporation, a Johnson & Johnson Company and five years as a Diagnostic Imaging Account Manager for GE Healthcare in the Pacific Northwest. In addition to her sales success, Ms. Schaulin served as the sales and service team facilitator and was involved in corporate training, customer training and mentoring of peers.
Jennifer earned a B.S. in general engineering with a secondary field of study in marketing from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign.
Ben Harber, MBA
Ben Harber manages a team responsible for 400+ interim leaders on assignment at hospitals across the country, serving in director to C-suite roles. He is a healthcare operations expert with deep experience in shared services centers, medical group management, multi-site healthcare operations, product management and revenue operations.
He joined B.E. Smith in 2016 after serving in interim COO roles at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City and Acuity Eye Group in California. Ben holds an MBA and BSBA from Rockhurst University and is Six Sigma Black Belt certified from GE Capital.
River Meisinger, HCMBA, ACHE
River Meisinger, HCMBA, ACHE, serves as Vice President of Executive Search for AMN Healthcare Leadership Solutions, named by Modern Healthcare as the nation’s top healthcare executive search firm. In his role at AMN Healthcare, River serves as a strategic partner to organizations who need cost-effective and creative executive search and interim leadership staffing that is integral to serving their communities. He also leads AMN Healthcare’s Multi-Search Solutions practice, which takes a 360-degreeview of an organization’s current and future workforce requirements to closely align its leadership recruiting with its strategic priorities.
After starting his bachelor’s degree with the intent of going into emergency medicine, River found fulfillment in healthcare administration, which gave him the chance to affect more outcomes in healthcare. Prior to his current role, he worked in the Saint Luke’s Health System in the homecare/hospice division. River is a pre-med graduate with a healthcare MBA in finance and leadership from Simmons University.
