Brett Brende

As the Vice President of the Southwest Division for B.E. Smith, Brett Brende brings over 17 years of experience in talent assessment and management, customer and employee satisfaction, and business development. Mr. Brende has excelled at building trust and developing relationships with his clients to provide solutions in a style that is responsive, professional, and personal. His prior experience involved working in the healthcare and hospitality industries and included work with a Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award recipient. Specifically, he assisted organizations in reengineering and improving customer satisfaction and loyalty initiatives to drive growth.

Mr. Brende holds a Masters of Business Administration with an emphasis on Human Resources from the Tippie School of Management at the University of Iowa. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from South Dakota State University.

Harper Chaffee

As the Central Division Vice President for B.E. Smith, Harper Chaffee brings more than 15 years of leadership experience in the healthcare industry. He has a successful track record of partnering with hospitals, GPOs, and information technology organizations, and possesses a strong drive towards enabling hospital performance improvement. Additionally, Mr. Chaffee has a history of delivering value to healthcare clients and forging long lasting relationships with hospital executives. His leadership experience and in-depth knowledge of the changing healthcare landscape enable him to provide clients with strategic solutions resulting in improved financial, clinical, and operational outcomes.

Mr. Chaffee earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Kansas. He is an active member of several hospital associations and healthcare organizations including HFMA and ACHE.

Sandy Cugliotta

As the Northeast Division Vice President for B.E. Smith, Sandy Cugliotta brings over 20 years of technical and sales management and leadership experience in healthcare technology organizations from very large companies to start-up ventures. Mr. Cugliotta is experienced at creating networks, liaisons, and business connections, while also negotiating joint ventures and strategic partnerships. Throughout his career he has helped executives transform clinical and financial operations to provide greater efficiencies.

Mr. Cugliotta holds a Masters of Business Administration from Saint Joseph’s University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Science from Widener University, Chester, Pennsylvania. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), and Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).

Brian Krehbiel

Brian Krehbiel’s professional career consists of more than 20 years of extensive experience in the healthcare industry. A nationally recognized leader in healthcare management, Mr. Krehbiel is a trusted advisor to clients across the United States and abroad. Having worked alongside healthcare industry leaders throughout his career, Mr. Krehbiel has been part of more than 1,500 successful senior-level leadership projects, ranging from small critical access hospitals to large, nationally acclaimed academic centers of excellence. As a seasoned executive, Mr. Krehbiel’ s experience in top-level client satisfaction has led to a series of prolific advisory roles for top healthcare systems, educational organizations, boards, and hospital associations. He is a frequent contributor at leadership meetings and events, and is considered an expert on strategic, executive-level talent, as well as leadership development and succession planning.

Mr. Krehbiel has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Kansas State University, and has also completed graduate work at the University of Chicago.

Stephen McNeil

As Vice President of the West Division, Stephen McNeil brings more than 16 years of experience in healthcare and healthcare information technology. Throughout his career he has focused on assisting large health systems and integrated delivery networks (IDN) with leveraging technology and outsourced staffing solutions to improve quality of patient care and health outcomes. As head of the West Division, Mr. McNeil utilizes this knowledge and experience to strengthen partnerships with healthcare providers in California, Oregon, and Washington. Healthcare executives value Mr. McNeil’s expertise in technology and outsourced staffing solutions, particularly in utilizing B.E. Jolene Williams

As Vice President of B.E. Smith’s Academic and Children’s Division, Jolene Williams brings more than 20 years of extensive healthcare experience. She has excelled not only in clinical roles but also as a consultant and healthcare leader. During her professional career, she has worked with clients throughout the country, and internationally, to improve clinical, operational and financial outcomes. Ms. Williams has had great success working with pediatric and academic health systems and understands the unique leadership qualities required to succeed within these specialized organizations.

Ms. Williams earned a Bachelor of Journalism Degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Journalism and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Missouri Western State University.

Tanner Burch

Tanner Burch brings more than six years of experience serving healthcare organization in a variety of areas including operations, strategic planning, business development, and marketing. As Division Director, he manages operations for B.E. Smith in the New England and mid-Atlantic markets. He specializes in building strong partnerships with regional Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), community, and rural hospitals. Mr. Burch’s proven track record assisting healthcare providers is a credit to his expertise and understanding of healthcare trends. Based in Boston, he supports organizations across the healthcare continuum through B.E. Smith’s robust leadership and recruitment services. B.E. Smith clients value his strategic partnership as well as innovative approach to Interim Leadership and Executive Search.

Mr. Burch holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Northwest Missouri State University.

Adam Burns

Adam Burns brings nearly 10 years of experience serving healthcare organizations in a variety of critical areas including regulatory mandates, operational efficiencies, quality management, and strategic planning. As Director, Mr. Burns partners with healthcare providers along the west coast, with a strong emphasis supporting organizations in southern California. Joshua Klostermeyer

Joshua Klostermeyer brings more than five years of healthcare experience, including leadership roles in healthcare recruitment and sales operations. As Director, Mr. Klostermeyer supports community, rural and standalone healthcare providers across the Southwest, with a dedicated focus in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona, and Nevada.
