Summary

Join New Mexico's premier Level I Trauma Center and Academic Medical Center as the new Emergency Department Director.

 

The Position

  • The Director of Emergency Services is responsible for day-to-day operations and activities within the emergency department. 
  • Reporting to the Executive Director of Emergency Services, this leader will manage six direct reports and 180 full-time employees.
  • This role involves overseeing staff orientation, credentialing, competency completion, and continuing education, while also ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • This leader will concentrate on organizing and directing clinical practice in collaboration with the Program Medical Director, through the development and implementation of strategic initiatives.
  • The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader eager to embrace challenges. They should be collaborative, adaptable, and actively engaged, with exceptional communication skills. Familiarity with paramedics and LPNs is an added advantage.

Requirements

  • BSN required with master’s strongly preferred.
  • Five plus years’ emergency department experience within an academic medical center required. 
  • Level 1 trauma center experience preferred.
