Chief Medical Officer opportunity in Maryland
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) will partner with the CEO and COO to elevate Planned Parenthood of Maryland’s (PPM) medical services, concentrating on quality, excellent delivery, customer service, and service expansion. The CMO will champion health equity and access in all aspects of their work. The CMO will work to refine the organization’s current service mix and work toward the expansion of new services (ex: telehealth, primary care). The CMO is the go-to for medical expertise and leadership across the agency and will collaborate with the advocacy staff. Advanced Practice Clinicians report directly to the CMO. Creating a culture of clinicians as independent leaders is key.
PPM operates seven health centers throughout the state: Annapolis, Baltimore, Easton, Frederick, Owings Mills, Towson, and Waldorf. Over the past 15 years, PPM’s patient base has nearly doubled, and patient demand continues to increase. In order to continue to provide the care that patients seek and rely upon, services at three health centers were expanded during 2020.

By providing medical services, education, and training, PPM seeks to help individuals make informed decisions about their reproductive health, family planning options, and sexuality.
- Must be a graduate of an approved medical school and licensed to practice in the State of Maryland. Board-certified or Board eligible for certification by the American Board of Obstetrics/Gynecology, American Board of Family Medicine, or in other applicable medical specialty is desired. Local hospital staff affiliation is also desired.
- Six (6) to eight (8) years of related or applicable experience as Medical Director or Chief Medical Officer.
- Specialized training in the areas of reproductive health, abortion, gynecology, epidemiology and public health preferred.
- Principles, practices, and methods of modern medical practitioner techniques specializing in obstetrics/gynecology, family medicine, or another applicable medical specialty.
