The Position

  • The Director of Surgical Services oversees clinical operations and department growth for the surgical service line to include: GI, Sterile Processing, pre/post-op and ambulatory surgery
  • The Director will report up to the CNO and manage 80 FTEs including four direct reports
  • Scope is spread across two hospital campuses and includes six Operating Rooms, one hybrid suite, 4 in ambulatory surgery and two GI rooms
  • Goals include closing gaps in communication across the Perioperative team, driving staff development for both new & tenured nurses, instill AORN clinical standards throughout the department, enhancing efficiency and growing case volume
  • The Director of Surgical Services will participate in the OR committee alongside the Chief of Surgery and key leaders from Anesthesia
  • Minimum BSN required; must have significant surgical leadership background in a complex healthcare setting (health system, multi-site group, etc)
