The CEO/Administrator is a public officer and public employee pursuant to public law who directs all the operations of the Hospital with the lawful responsibilities, rights, authority and duties customarily pertaining to its offices and as may be established from time to time by or under the direction of the Board of Directors of the District or its designees. In addition to the specific matters under job responsibilities, all other executive and administrative functions necessary to ensure the continued operation, fiscal viability, accreditation, licensure, and high quality delivery of medical services for the District and to the communities served by the District. The District reserves the right to modify this position and duties at any time in its sole and reasonable discretion.
Northern Inyo County Local Hospital District has weathered many challenges over the decades: changing from tax-based funding for acute care to insurance companies, Medicare, Medicaid, and Medi-Cal; increases in managed care; and increased outpatient services. Despite all of these challenges, the district has flourished due to the diligent leadership exhibited both in the hospital and in the community. The district, hospital administration, and the community have been dedicated to supporting and operating the Northern Inyo Hospital for nearly 75 years while managing to expand the auxiliary health care services available to the community through philanthropic and grant-based activities.
The Northern Inyo Healthcare District began a major transformation in 2012. Now completed, the hospital conforms to rigorous earthquake safety standards and houses some of the most state of art medical equipment in the area. Additionally, Northern Inyo Healthcare District is one of Inyo county's largest employers.

An undergraduate degree and an advance degree (MHA or MBA) are required.
At least seven (7) years direct experience in hospital administration, preferably in a district hospital, is essential.
A combination of leadership, human, business, political, facilitative and decision-making abilities, industry knowledge and a customer service orientation.
