Senior Vice President of Finance opportunity in New York
Reporting to Maimonides’ EVP and Chief Financial Officer, the SVP of Finance will provide financial leadership and direction for Maimonides and its various entities and direct the activities of all aspects of the organization’s core financial functions, including: general accounting, financial reporting, accounts payable, payroll, financial planning and analysis, budgeting, treasury (which includes debt and cash management), cost accounting, government reimbursement and reporting and grant research.
Maimonides Medical Center (Maimonides) is a 711-bed, not-for-profit, teaching hospital located in the Borough Park section of Brooklyn, New York, and is one of the largest independent teaching hospitals in the United States. As the largest hospital in New York City’s most populous borough, it is a destination center for tertiary care, featuring advanced clinical capabilities and outstanding patient outcomes. Maimonides is an affiliate of Northwell Health and a major teaching site for the SUNY Downstate College of Medicine.
The ideal candidate will have 10-plus years of progressive financial leadership experience with a demonstrated management capability and broad knowledge of financial services in a sizable, complex healthcare organization or multi-hospital system. A Bachelor’s degree is required. Also, comprehensive knowledge of accounting, tax, compliance and internal audit, typically acquired through a Master’s degree in Finance or a closely related field is required. A CPA is preferred as is early career experience working in a public accounting firm. Experience leading an ERP implementation is a plus.
