The Ideal Candidate
The Chair of Neurosurgery will be viewed by all stakeholders as a strong advocate for balancing the academic, educational, and clinical missions within the growing Department and a willing collaborator with colleagues outside of the Department. The successful candidate must be an outstanding clinician and a team builder who is able to lead in a complex and dynamic environment and who will continue efforts around programmatic development, population health, patient access and value-based care.
The Neurosurgery Department’s clinical and academic staff includes Neurosurgeons (cranial, spine and nerve expertise), Spine (orthopedic) surgeons, Pain/Anesthesia specialties, Neuro-intensivists, and APPs. Surgeons are members of integrated teams and treatment centers. For example, the Spine Center combines surgeons, Physical Medicine/Rehabilitation physicians and Anesthesia Pain physicians working in one collaborative team. Brain tumors are treated by Neurosurgeons in collaboration with the Neuro-Oncology team.
