Medical Director, Specialty Care Service Line
The Opportunity
The Medical Director is a highly strategic, system-wide role, reporting to senior system executives. Leadership for the service line is structured in a dyad model with the Service Line Administrator. Working closely with twelve division directors, the Medical Director and the Service Line Administrator will be responsible for strategy, growth, operations, patient access, financial performance, and value for the Specialty Care Service line throughout the MetroHealth system. Initial efforts will focus on developing and implementing ambulatory strategy to enhance and support the service line.
The Specialty Care Service Line includes 100 clinicians, over 40 residents and fellows and 150,000 patient visits annually in the areas of Cardiology, Pulmonary Medicine, Gastroenterology, Sleep Medicine, Vascular Surgery, Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery, Rheumatology, Infectious Diseases, Endocrinology, Nephrology, Dermatology and Allergy and Immunology.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate must be a collaborative team builder who is able to lead in a complex and dynamic environment. Attributes include:
- MD, MD/PhD, DO, or equivalent, and current applicable board certification.
- Demonstrated clinical leadership, ideally in multispecialty group practice environment and/or academic health care.
