The Position

  • The Director of Medical Surgical will provide leadership for strategy and overall operations to three of the facilities six Medical Surgical units in a quickly growing organization. 
  • This position will report directly to the Associate Chief Nursing Officer and oversee a team of three managers and support staff of a combined 96 bed med/surg unit. 
  • As a motivating team leader, this individual will be expected to mentor/coach their team to provide opportunities for professional growth and development. Along with being someone who can understand business strategy and drive outcomes in quality, safety and patient satisfaction throughout the unit.
  • Other important initiatives this leader will participate in include, developing the culture of the team, challenge the unit to try new and innovative strategies and perform root cause analysis.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong surgical background, capable of speaking to tangible outcomes, is metrics/outcome driven, able to provide stability to the unit and capable of building effective working relationships.
  • Bachelor’s and Master's degree are required. Previous director level experience managing leaders in a healthcare setting required.
