Chief Nursing Officer
As a member of the Senior Team, the Chief Nursing Officer represents Coquille Valley Hospital in facility, market, and fundraising forums.
The Chief Nursing Officer has operational leadership accountability for ancillary and support services departments as well as ambulatory care and nursing departments.
The CNO must remain up to date in industry trends, understand the big picture and use the strengths of the organization to position it for future success.
The candidate must create and maintain positive working relationships with members of the medical staff and Board based upon trust, partnership, and collaboration.
It is critically important that the CNO demonstrate excellent employee relations and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of organizational stakeholders. Inside the hospital, the CNO visits the departments under their leadership on a daily basis to ensure smooth operations.
Outside the hospital, the CNO maintains strong positive working relationships with the community.
A major challenge for the CNO is to effectively manage services in a competitive market.
The role requires a continual focus on identifying innovative solutions and work methods, and the integration and standardization of processes to insure effective stewardship.
This position ensures responsive budgeting, reporting and monitoring of results to maintain the financial integrity of the organization and takes a leadership role in facilitating necessary changes in operations to meet targets.

Our ideal candidate will specifically possess:
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or ability to become licensed in Oregon is required.
- A master’s degree in nursing is required.
- Five (5) years’ experience at the Director of Nursing level or equivalent senior nurse management experience in a comparable hospital.
Coquille Valley Hospital
The 51,000-square-foot facility was built in 2012. Bond-funded and 100% union-built, the three-story community hospital has 16 beds and 9,000-square-feet of covered parking.
As a critical access facility, offering a broad range of health services for the people of Coquille, Myrtle Point, Powers, Bridge and Fairview, the state-of-the-art hospital benefits many who visit and live in the Coquille River Valley.
Coquille is a city in Coos County, Oregon, bounded by the Coquille River to the south and the beginnings of the Coast Range to the east and north the City of Coquille sits in the beautiful Coquille Valley.
The Pacific Ocean just twenty miles downstream has a moderating effect on the climate and the City is much warmer and less windy in the summer than neighboring cities Coos Bay and Bandon.
