Opportunity for Nursing Leader to Serve as Director of Clinical Education at Parkland Health and Hospital System, one of the largest public hospitals in the nation! 

The Position

  • The Director of Clinical Education provides strategic and administrative oversight of the Clinical Education and Academic Programs department, which includes approximately 175 FTEs, at Parkland Health and Hospital System.
  • Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, the Director will confirm that all clinical staff are properly trained, hold necessary certifications, and meet required competencies.
  • Seeking collaborative leader who will partner closely with system leadership and external organizations. The Director will ensure Parkland’s professional, nursing, and allied health employees receive relevant and up-to-date opportunities to further their knowledge, including through continuing education, residency programs, and internship programs. 
  • Must bring 10+ years of nursing education experience, at least four of which are in a leadership role.
  • Master’s degree in nursing required; Doctoral degree in nursing preferred.

  • Parkland Health & Hospital System first opened its doors in 1894 and is now one of the largest public hospital systems in the country. With 882 licensed beds, Parkland cares for more than one million patient visits annually and is the primary teaching hospital for the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
  • Parkland Health is a Level I Trauma Center, the second largest civilian burn center in the U.S., and delivers more babies each year than any other hospital in the country with a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The system also includes 20 community-based clinics, including primary care and women's clinics, 12 school-based clinics, and numerous outreach and education programs.
  • Many of Parkland's specialty areas have garnered national praise and in 2018, Parkland achieved Pathway to Excellence designation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), a subsidiary of the American Nurses Association.
