Serve as the Administrative Director of Perioperative Services for UMC El Paso, an academic healthcare partner of Texas Tech School of Medicine

The Position

  • The Administrative Director of Perioperative Services oversees business and operational demands of the surgical service line including contracts, budgeting, vendor management, recruitment and productivity
  • The Administrative Director is responsible for 12 ORs, PACU, Ambulatory Surgery, Pre-Admission and Sterile Processing 
  • Key objectives include: attracting private practice physicians to drive case volume, ensuring adequate resources and instrumentation in SPD, optimizing OR efficiency and blocking, and recruiting clinical staff
  • Improve accountability and stability of the department, focusing on staff development, mentoring and succession planning
  • Focus on enhancing the organization to academic status, adding new specialties and building relationships with surgeons at Texas Tech
  • Seeking a highly motivated, seasoned and professional perioperative Admin Director with at least ten years of relevant nurse leadership experience in an acute healthcare setting and significant OR background
  • Minimum BSN required, Master’s strongly preferred
  • Level I Trauma Center and/or teaching hospital experience is ideal
  • Must be familiar with working in an environment where academic medicine and private practice frequently cross paths
