The Position

  • The Director of Facilities Operations and Maintenance is the key leader for the Plant Operations department, which is responsible for the facility structures and building systems of the hospital campus and satellite clinics that spans more than a million square feet.
  • Reporting to the Administrative Director of Engineering, Facilities, and Operations, the Director oversees a team of 26 FTEs that covers the areas of maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting, and general mechanics.
  • Additional day-to-day oversight includes repairs, corrective and preventative efforts, department workflow, process improvement, operating and capital budgets, contract management, regulatory compliance, and the Utility Management Program. 
  • The Director must be a collaborative partner to stakeholders across the health system to support the essential clinical functions of the hospital.
  • Must bring 5+ years in a supervisory role, including healthcare experience related to facility planning and design, facility or project management, or maintenance and operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Advanced certification preferred (e.g. Professional Engineer, Certified Energy Manager, Certified Maintenance Professional, Certified Healthcare Facility Manager).
