A Virginia Hospital is seeking a strong leader to join them as their new Interim Operations Manager, Pathology Lab! 

The Position

  • The Interim Operations Manager, Pathology Lab, will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations within the department, and will oversee approximately 22 FTEs.  
  • The Interim Manager will work to ensure that all processes and testing procedures throughout the department are running efficiently to guarantee optimal patient care.  
  • Will serve as a mentor for all staff members, specifically the Laboratory Supervisor, to proactively maintain education/training while ensuring that associate and human resources obstacles are efficiently managed. 
  • The Interim Manager will lead process improvement projects and will utilize Operational Rounding Process (ORP) to effectively drive changes. 
  • Candidates will ideally bring Medical Technologist experience within a clinical laboratory setting in addition to excellent communication skills, and willingness to provide hands-on leadership throughout the department. 


  • Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree is preferred. 
  • American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification and/or Histotechnologist (HTL) certification is required.
