Seeking a Director of Quality and Patient Safety to strengthen the quality program for Mary Washington Hospital and its nearby sister facility in Fredericksburg, Virginia

The Position
  • The Director of Quality and Patient Safety is responsible for 13 FTEs and the overall growth & development of quality and safety standards within Mary Washington Hospital and Stafford Hospital
  • The Director implements new and updated plans to target infection control, risk and safety practices
  • Adjust Epic EHR interfaces to best serve quality and safety goals, report safety incidents to the necessary agencies, and encourage staff development through problem solving, education and accountability
  • This leader will prioritize key initiatives including CMS reporting, admissions reduction, increased safety scores and shaping Mary Washington to become a high-reliability organization
  • The Director should have three or more years in quality, patient safety, HIM, utilization or risk management, in addition to at least two years at the manager or director level
  • Bachelor’s degree and a clinical background are required; CPHQ certification and a Master’s degree preferred
