The Position

  • The AVP Controller will oversee the comprehensive operations of the Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Payroll departments for Texas Children’s and its affiliate locations.
  • Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Finance, this leader will oversee a team of direct reports.
  • The AVP Controller will spearhead efforts to drive technological advancements within the department, including the implementation of new systems. Additionally, they will focus on relevant metrics including reducing days to close.
  • Ideal candidates should possess a robust background in healthcare accounting. This role will have significant visibility to senior leadership and thus requires superior communication skills. A passion for learning and enthusiasm for driving future improvements are essential qualities.
  • This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing for a blend of remote and in-office work.


  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • CPA certification required.
  • Must bring 7-10 years of relevant experience within a healthcare setting.
