Chief Medical Officer
The Position:
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) is a Vice President of Medical Staff Affairs, responsible for developing clinical leadership and engagement of physician and non-physician practitioners to drive the success of the clinical practice. The CMO is charged with defining the overall clinical vision and clinical direction of the organization. The CMO works with other members of the operations and leadership teams to provide medical oversight, expertise and leadership to ensure the delivery of affordable quality healthcare services. Responsibilities also include development and implementation of innovative clinical programs that may include residency programs or other collaboration with strategic business partners. The CMO is a key leader in support of the overall business strategy and financial success of Healthcare Network. The CMO also serves as the medical representative of HN to the broader community.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Physician, M.D., D.O.
- Board certification in a primary care specialty.
- MBA or other equivalent degree is desirable.
- FQHC experience highly preferred.
- 10+ years’ clinical experience.
- Licensed or eligible for Florida medical license.
- 4+ years’ experience in executive role with emphasis on clinical quality & operations.
- Experience with clinical risk management, accreditation and regulatory compliance (familiarity with FQHC requirements).
- Familiarity with EHR and EMR records systems.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
