Spira Care, an integrated healthcare offering in the Kansas City market designed by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (Blue KC), announces a national search to identify an experienced healthcare executive to serve as President, providing strategic and operational leadership for the expanding organization.
Spira Care is a rapidly growing, radically patient-centered company of high functioning, integrated primary care centers that improve health outcomes, lower medical costs, and improve the care experience for adults and children. Since the launch of its first Care Center in January 2018, Spira Care has been delivering advanced primary care services across the Kansas City metro area to Blue KC members enrolled in health plans with exclusive access to Spira Care Centers. Spira Care has enjoyed tremendous growth and continues to invest in its future, with eight Care Centers currently in operation and a ninth location scheduled to open later this year.
The President will champion Spira Care’s commitment to healthy outcomes, affordability, differentiated patient experiences, health equity and Care Team well-being. Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer of Blue KC, the President will maintain broad responsibility for all strategic and operational aspects of Spira Care, emphasizing continuous innovation and improvement of administrative and clinical operating models to ensure value-aligned care and high-performing population health across the system.
The President is responsible for oversight of the performance and operations, the continuous improvement of administrative and clinical operating models and will help establish and implement goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and systems for all operational areas in support of Spira Care's strategic plan as well as develop the overall Blue KC Primary Care execution and strategy. The President will play a significant role in working with the planning, leading, and directing day-to-day operations and is also responsible for the development of Spira strategy and how the area compliments other Blue KC lines of business and augments sales and product.
The successful candidate will be a proven executive leader with a demonstrated passion for healthcare improvement, including a commitment to the promotion of healthcare quality, customer service, and innovation. Candidates should demonstrate success leading the development and execution of strategies that advance the needs of a primary care organization, with a minimum of seven years of ambulatory healthcare operations experience, including clinical operations, population health management, integrated care models and primary care quality measures. Progressive leadership experience within a physician group, accountable care network, integrated delivery network or similar organization is required, Master’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
