The Position 

  • The System Leader/Senior Director of Perioperative Services will be responsible for the direction and leadership of operational, financial, programmatic, and personnel activities for UW Health Perioperative Services departments across multiple campus locations.
  • Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this leader will oversee a team of four direct reports.
  • Utilizing a triad approach, this leader will partner closely with physician leaders to agree on best practices in order to develop and enforce best practices around surgical and procedural service standards across the organization, along with providing oversight for surgical and procedural scheduling.
  • Other duties include identifying areas for opportunity improvement around financial outcomes and employee engagement. 
  • The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a large academic or complex health system/program. Strong emotional intelligence, the ability to lead positive change, superior communication and interpersonal skills will be critical. 
  • Must possess a minimum of 7+ years of progressive leadership experience and have extensive knowledge of scheduling within an academic setting.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred. Active RN licenses required.
