Summary

Division Director, Maternal Fetal Medicine 

 

Position:

The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Women’s Health is seeking an outstanding physician-scientist to serve as the next Division Director of Maternal Fetal Medicine. The Division Director will be responsible for supporting the recruitment, development and mentoring of faculty members and as well as the oversight and analysis of the finances for the Division. The Director will maintain and monitor the division’s scholarly productivity, review research efforts to ensure resources are directed appropriately, and develop strategies for ensuring support with extramural funding for research activities. This new Division Director will provide leadership and growth of the research program within the Division along with oversight of the education and clinical programs directed by other appointed division members. The Division Director, while having significant protected time (50% or more depending on funding) will continue their own research as well as develop and foster the division’s research program. In addition to providing overall leadership for the Division, the new director will contribute to the strategic development and planning of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology as an integral part of the leadership team.

Qualifications:

Successful candidates for this position must demonstrate the ability to lead a diverse group, work with the hospital and academic department partners using a collaborative approach, mentor junior faculty and have business skills, including financial budgeting and resource management. Other qualities include a commitment to excellence in patient care, implementation of innovative patient care programs, and track record of successful academic productivity. Preference will be given to individuals with proven experience partnering with the MFMU network and obtaining NIH or equivalent research grant support.  

Additional requirements include:

  • MD/DO from an appropriately accredited institution  
  • Experience and expertise in all clinical aspects of Maternal Fetal Medicine 
  • Graduate of an accredited ACGME OB/GYN residency and Maternal-Fetal medicine fellowship-training program
  • Board certified with the ACOG MFM Board
  • Ability to secure a full, unrestricted license to practice medicine in Minnesota 
  • Ability to obtain/maintain DEA certification in the State of Minnesota  
  • Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges  
  • Ability to receive work authorization in the United States from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and maintain legal status according to the requirements of VISA category while in the United States
