New Director of Inpatient Plant Operations and Safety Officer with leadership across two hospital locations in a beautiful area of Northwest Washington


The Position

  • The Director of Inpatient Plant Operations and Safety Officer directs and administers all preventative maintenance and work repair programs for Skagit Regional Health’s two hospital locations, Cascade Valley Hospital and Skagit Valley Hospital.
  • Oversight areas include skilled maintenance, support services, plant engineering, safety, minor construction, remodeling, and grounds.
  • Serves as the Facility Safety Officer with leadership for the EOC Safety Committee and active participation on the Emergency Preparedness Committee.
  • Reporting to the Regional Director, Facilities and Real Estate, the Director will provide day-to-day management of 12 engineering FTEs. Foster a collaborative, customer-service focused environment, as well as ensure continued training for team members and that appropriate safety and certification standards are in place.
  • Responsible for proper documentation and reporting processes; preparing and managing operating, construction, and capital budgets; providing in-house technical expertise on all mechanical/electrical systems, building and remodeling, and related contracted work; and managing the Department of Health and DNV regulation requirements. 
  • Must bring 5+ years of progressive responsibility within healthcare facilities management, including a strong background in project management. 5+ years of management experience in engineering and maintenance preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.

The facility also offers a number of support services such as an in-house laboratory, rehabilitation, diagnostic imaging and more.
