The Position
- The Director of Emergency Medicine is responsible for the oversight and day-to-day operations of Pediatrics and Adult ED within OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, a 609-bed, Level 1 Trauma Center.
- Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), this leader will oversee approximately 250 FTEs while establishing and maintaining standards of clinical practice including quality, education, advanced practice, and clinical operations within the 55-bed Emergency Department.
- The Director will be responsible for the maintenance of departmental operations and initiatives including operational performance, fiscal management, and human resources and will collaborate closely with executive leadership members to ensure that the Emergency Department is in adherence to organizational goals.
- This leader will provide guidance and assist with making recommendations regarding policy issues, technology needs, and clinical practice while identifying opportunities to achieve quality, safety, and cost initiatives.
- The Director will be a dedicated leader who will seek to create and maintain positive and trusting work relationships with all physicians, staff members, and leaders throughout the organization as they strive to carry forward the mission, core values, and clinical success that has been implemented by OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.

Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required; master’s degree in nursing and/or healthcare related field is required.
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience within a related setting is required.
- A Minimum of 3+ years of supervisory experience is required.
