Chief Medical Officer opportunity in New England
Care New England and The Providence Center (TPC) is seeking a Chief Medical Officer. The Chief Medical Officer will oversee the clinical programs and clinical care provided at TPC and reports directly to the President/COO, TPC, with matrix reporting to the Chief of Psychiatry, Care New England. TPC seeks an engaging, dynamic and visionary physician leader to partner with the President to lead the outstanding and dedicated clinicians and support staff of this exceptional mission-driven and culturally dynamic community mental health organization. The mission of The Providence Center is “To help adults, adolescents and children affected by psychiatric illnesses, emotional problems and addictions by providing treatment and supportive services within a community setting.”
With approximately 639 employees, TPC benefits from a loyal, long tenured, and diverse workforce. TPC has nearly 30 locations and more than 60 programs. On an annual basis, TPC provides services to more than 18,000 clients.

- MD or DO, currently licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Rhode Island.
- Current Certification in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
- Five or more years of clinical experience in community-based, multi-disciplinary behavioral health.
- Experience with (dual diagnoses and/or addiction medicine) strongly preferred.
- Successful leadership experience, either formal or informal, in a prior role (i.e. Medical Director, Associate Medical Director) is preferred.
