Vice President of Operations

Day Kimball Medical Group, a member of Day Kimball Healthcare, is seeking its next Vice President of Operations to provide operational and strategic leadership for the system’s employed, multispecialty physician practice. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer of Day Kimball Healthcare and to the Day Kimball Medical Group, the VP of Operations is a member of the executive leadership team and will collaborate closely with the Chief Medical Officer for the health system. The Vice President of Operations encompasses components of strategy and operational tactics to drive strong operating performance, provide an exceptional patient experience, promote strategic program growth and development, support physician relationship development, and assist with medical staff recruitment.

Day Kimball Healthcare (DKH) is an independent, non-profit, community hospital and integrated healthcare system headquartered in Putnam, CT serving Northeast Connecticut and nearby Massachusetts and Rhode Island, for more than 125 years. The network is comprised of Day Kimball Hospital, Day Kimball Medical Group, Day Kimball Healthcare Centers in Danielson, Dayville, Plainfield, and Putnam, and Day Kimball Healthcare at Home (comprising Day Kimball Homecare, Day Kimball HomeMakers, and Hospice and Palliative Care of Northeastern Connecticut).

The Day Kimball Medical Group (DKMG) is a health system sponsored multispecialty group practice offering a range of health and specialty care services at convenient locations throughout Putnam and the surrounding towns. The practice was formed in 2012 and has primary care, medical and surgical specialties practicing at 14 medical offices with approximately 70 medical providers and 150 total employees. DKMG is in the final evaluation stages to achieve recognition as a patient centered medical home by NCQA and has met the guidelines associated with meaningful use as the organization moves towards a value-based care model.

The successful candidate will have proven experience leading the development and execution of strategies that advance to the needs of an integrated multispecialty group practice, with an understanding of health care delivery at a granular, patient-centric level and the interactions among physicians, staff, and patients. The VP will bring a passion about healthcare improvement, including a commitment to promotion of healthcare quality, customer service, and the capacity to innovate. A minimum of 10 years related experience, in private and health system environments, including five years in a leadership role with an integrated, multi-specialty medical group are required. Bachelor’s degree is required with a Master’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
