The Position
- The Director of Maintenance & Facilities will be responsible for organizing, controlling, planning, and developing departmental operations pertaining to facilities and ground maintenance within the Mackinac Straits Health System.
- The Director will be responsible for the oversight of day-to-day operations of the department and will focus on departmental initiatives including ensuring timely completion of work orders, establishing service intervals, PM routines, and inventories.
- This leader will direct the strategic planning process for future development and will assist with all facility renovations including oversight of estimates, design, and permitting costs to guarantee optimal growth throughout the organization.
- The Director must display a high level of professionalism with the ability to effectively handle any technical or administrative responsibilities, including efficiently creating positive working relationships with staff, leadership, and the community.
- This leader will strive to develop and implement performance standards and ensure departmental growth by monitoring staff productivity, coordinating with contractors, and closely overseeing both interior and grounds initiatives.
- Ideal candidates will be seasoned leaders with a strong business acumen, possessing excellent communication and team-building skills.
- Proficiency in building codes including NFPA and/or DNV standards related to healthcare regulation will be essential.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred.
- A minimum of three years of facilities maintenance is required.
- Healthcare experience preferred
