Provide legal counsel and expertise in a new Attorney role in San Antonio, Texas with University of Texas Health Science Center

The Position
  • The Attorney – Senior position provides legal advice and analysis regarding transactional matters related to Higher Education, and representation of Governmental Entities.  Works closely with the Chief Legal Officer or designee, management, employees at all levels. The University of Texas System Office of General Counsel, Texas Attorney General, as well as outside legal counsel.
  • This Attorney should be well-rounded and knowledgeable as the subject matter expert regarding matters related to higher education (FERPA, Title IX, ethics and conflicts of interest), civil rights of students and employees, privacy and security laws, government procurement and contract law. 
  • This Attorney is responsible for studying both proposed and existing legislation, providing administration with legal advisement, drafting/reviewing various transactions including resolutions, forms, policies and procedures, and reviewing advertising copy or public statements to ensure legality and ethics.
  • Requires at least seven years of relevant experience plus Juris Doctorate and Texas state licensure
