The Position

  • The Senior Director is responsible for assuming the lead role in coordinating and preparing key net revenue financial reports and financial statement valuations for the system and division levels of UMass Memorial Health Care using advanced technical expertise and/or financial modeling capabilities.
  • Serving as subject matter expert, interprets and applies current financial reporting standards and ensures departmental compliance.
  • Develops and recommends the budgets for the areas managed as well as manages activities to ensure financial goals are met.
  • Assists in managing monthly closing processes, including preparation of interim and year-end financial reports. 
  • While the Senior Director role is a REMOTE POSITION, it does require on-site quarterly visits.
  • Responsible for the financial development, review, and analysis of monthly contractual allowances, third party settlements and payer revenue variance analysis.
  • Work to modernize and support the organization’s current processes, while additionally preserving the historical knowledge that has already been put into practice.

  • Coordinates system-wide financial and third-party audits, reviews required records and files prepared by internal accountants for all UMMHC entities in preparation for external audit, and works closely with the auditors for interim, quarterly and annual audits.
  • Ideal candidates will bring excellent problem-solving abilities as well as the ability to work independently and communicate effectively.  
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration; Master’s preferred.
  • Must bring 8+ years’ recent accounting experience, including three 3 years in a supervisory capacity.
