Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium Hires New VP of Multispecialty Clinics

April 03, 2019

Community-driven executive assumes role Vice President of Multispecialty Clinics, joining a likeminded organization in supporting both the remote and populous areas of Alaska

As of March 25, Karlan Hoggan has assumed role of Vice President of Medical and Multispecialty Clinics for Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC), the largest comprehensive Tribal health organization in the country. Based in Anchorage, Alaska, this Joint Commission-accredited health organization provides a wide range of care and services to the Alaska Native and American Indian people of the state.

Mr. Hoggan was looking to make a difference in the welfare of a community, and this position exemplified his passions in providing healthcare through horizontally integrated organizations. He enjoys helping organizations achieve goals, ensure compliance, and improve patient satisfaction, while helping younger administrators and teams succeed.

With the initial goal of supporting site staff and physicians, solidifying patient access, reducing wait times, enhancing the referral process, and strengthening clinical outcomes, Mr. Hoggan is excited to start this new era of his career.

“I love ANTHC’s vision that Alaska Native people are the healthiest people in the world, and how our mission is to provide the highest quality health services in partnership with our people and the Alaska Tribal Health System,” Mr. Hoggan said. “It is incredibly rewarding to be part of such a dynamic and progressive organization improving the health status of our people and communities throughout Alaska.”

Mr. Hoggan entered the search as a senior healthcare executive with more than 20 years of experience in progressive leadership roles at the Corporate, CEO, Regional President, Regional VP, and COO levels, along with several years as an executive in the US Air Force. He is academically prepared with a Master of National Resource Strategy from National Defense University; a Master of Military Operational Arts/Science from Air University; and a Master of Health Administration from the University of Washington.
