The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio hires multi-faceted facilities executive to lead multi-million dollar projects and to build highly functional teams.
The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UT Health San Antonio) wasn’t looking for just any Associate Vice President of Facilities Management – the organization needed someone who could look at the big picture without losing sight of the smallest details. UT Health San Antonio also wanted a leader with a business background and who was capable of establishing relationships.
B.E. Smith soon identified Daniel Costello, a collaborative facilities leader who focuses on delivering healthcare to individuals through academics. After interviewing with the leadership team at UT Health San Antonio, Daniel was ready to join the organization. He began his new role on April 1.
With a passion for delivering healthcare to individuals through academics, Daniel wants to be able to support the delivery of healthcare in this type of environment.
“I am excited to join UT Health San Antonio and contribute to the excellence in education, research, healthcare, and community engagement with client-focused, cost-effective facilities services,” Daniel said.
As the Associate Vice President, Facilities Management, Daniel will oversee the operational and budgetary activities for the facility, as well as capital projects for renovations and new installations. He has the opportunity to establish credibility within the organization, while improving upon and making the best out of the physical facilities.
UT Health San Antonio is a health science education and research institution located in the South Texas Medical Center, covering 400 million square feet across three campuses. The organization is part of the University of Texas Health System, the largest health sciences university in South Texas.
