Presbyterian Healthcare Services Retains B.E. Smith in Search for Medical Director

December 27, 2018

Presbyterian Healthcare Services, one of America’s top 10 integrated delivery networks and home to the largest health Plan in New Mexico, is seeking a Long-Term Care and Support Services Medical Director to help shape the future of the expanding Medicaid program.

In collaboration with the Health Plan’s Senior Medical Director, New Mexico Human Services Department, and state-wide provider networks, the Long-Term Care and Support Services Medical Director (LTSS MDR) will be a progressive leader who can provide medical oversight, guidance, and support to deliver cost-effective, quality healthcare services to Presbyterian’s growing Medicaid Plan members.

The LTSS MDR will provide Presbyterian Health Plan with medical leadership and is responsible for ensuring that medical protocols and practice guidelines support and promote the Centennial Care LTSS program. As New Mexico’s Medicaid population is large relative to the state’s population but small relative to that of other states, the scale and diversity of the Medicaid population offers opportunities to affect change.

The ideal candidate will possess at least five years of clinical practice experience and have a passion for geriatric patient care. They will also bring experience in developing and implementing programs in a managed care setting.

Requirements: MD or DO, board certification, and current license.
