Interim CIO under their belts, Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems is also using B.E. Smith to identify candidates for the permanent Chief Information Officer opportunity.
The Chief Information Officer will have system-wide influence to information technology, electronic resources and health information affairs across EMHS.
As the driving force behind Cerner implementation, the new CIO can expect to consolidate multiple EHR systems down to one and introduce the new platform without disrupting daily hospital operations. This leader will have exceptional background in healthcare IT and prior experience in instituting an EHR rollout.
Although candidates with Master’s degrees are preferred, it is more crucial that the Chief Information Officer has a proven skill for leading IT transformational processes.
