University of New Mexico Hospitals Enlists B.E. Smith to Recruit Chief Nursing Officer

Build a strong culture and continue to progress patient care as the new Chief Nursing Officer for University of New Mexico Hospitals in Albuquerque, NM.

The Chief Nursing Officer will oversee all administration and leadership of the inpatient and clinical programs and services within University of New Mexico Hospitals, Children’s Hospital of New Mexico, and Carrie Tingley Hospital, while supporting the UNM Health System and UNM Health Sciences Center. 

This role will provide leadership for Nursing and shared governance councils within the Clinical Enterprise to ensure the establishment and maintenance of nursing goals and objectives. The leader will also act as a liaison between internal and external consultants/experts, redesign teams, and senior management to ensure that strategic and project goals are met, opportunities are maximized, and barriers are removed.

Main responsibilities include initiating and participating in the development, implementation, and evaluation of new and revised operational and procedural arrangements for staffing resources affecting the delivery of patient care. Additionally, the CNO will collaborates with the Chief Medical Officer to lead the implementation of medium- and large-scale clinical operational initiatives as identified within the strategic and operating plans.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in related discipline
  • DNP or PHD in Nursing (preferred)
  • Minimum ten years of progressively increasing administrative experience
