Organic Innovation

B.E. Smith's son, Doug Smith, joined the company in 1984. Doug Smith had a vision for national growth, and he put that vision into action when he purchased B.E. Smith in 1995. Doug Smith led the development of several innovations in healthcare recruitment, including a pay-for-performance retained search model. He also pioneered the interim leadership division, transforming talent management in the healthcare industry.

AMN Healthcare acquired B.E. Smith in 2016, infusing B.E. Smith’s personalized placement expertise in C-suite, executive- and director-level recruitment with AMN Healthcare’s robust network of professional and managed services programs.
