The Position

The Chief Clinical Officer, Ambulatory Care reports to Dr. Paul Lee, Executive Director of University of Michigan Medical Group and Senior Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs, U-M Medical School and University of Michigan Health. The CCO partners in a Segment Triad with a Chief Nursing Officer and a Chief Operating Officer. The CCO has a direct reporting relationship with the approximately 11 Associate Chief Clinical Officers. This team oversees the Ambulatory Care Units and collaborates with the 20 Michigan Medicine Clinical Departments that provides care throughout the approximately 160 clinic and ambulatory procedural and surgical locations located throughout the U-MH service area. The 2023 budgeted net revenue for Ambulatory care is $2B.

The primary responsibility for this senior level management position is to provide clinical operational leadership related to all clinical processes, systems and practices focused on improving patient experience, safety, quality, timeliness, financial stewardship, and the U-MH team of physicians and APPs, other clinicians, and clinical and operational staff in Ambulatory Care.


Qualifications

  • Practicing MD/DO or equivalent
  • Eligible for a faculty appointment in the University of Michigan Medical School
  • Active Medical Staff Member
  • Board-certified
