The Opportunity:
Catholic Health announces an exceptional opportunity for an accomplished and respected bariatric surgeon to serve as Associate Chair of Surgery, Sisters of Charity Hospital and Trinity Medical Director of Surgical Services.
Under the direction of the System Chair of Surgery, the Chief Physician Executive of Catholic Health (CH), and the President and Chief Medical Officer of the Physician Enterprise, the Associate Chair and Medical Director is responsible for providing the leadership to achieve consistent, high-quality surgical care across CH general surgery and bariatric programs, services, and facilities. The Associate Chair and Medical Director will also be responsible for care quality outcomes in Trinity Surgery/Bariatrics in partnership with the Physician Enterprise leadership and the Administrative Leader of Surgery/Bariatrics Services.
The incoming leader will lead a high-volume, state-of-the-art surgical program with a full range of minimally invasive services, including two DaVinci robots. The Associate Chair and Medical Director will support programmatic growth in Bariatric and General Surgery, while maintaining the highest standards of quality, outcomes and patient satisfaction. In collaboration with Directors of OR, Nursing and Anesthesia, the new leader will schedule cases, allocate block time and ensure a highly functioning and efficient OR. This highly visible role offers a unique opportunity to advance the continuing integration of the Catholic Health Physician Enterprise, while building upon established and highly productive general surgery and bariatric programs.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Medical Degree from a medical school recognized by the New York State Board of Regents
- Board Certified in General Surgery and Bariatrics required; current, or eligible for, unrestricted medical license in New York State
- Advanced Business Degree preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of practice experience with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership capacity.
