Seeking a Chief Information Officer for a hospital in New York City!


The Position 

  • The Chief Information Officer plays a critical role in managing the technology infrastructure and systems that support the organization's clinical, financial, and administrative operations. The CIO oversees the strategic direction, implementation, and maintenance of information technology (IT) systems and ensures that they align with the organization's goals and regulatory requirements.
  • The Chief Information Officer will play a pivotal role in propelling the health system forward, ensuring operational stability and reliability in information technology, optimizing the value derived from supplier partnerships, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making, and spearheading future technological innovations.
  • Will provide executive sponsorship to upcoming and ongoing EMR upgrades and ensure that the EMR is being optimized and effectively leveraged.
  • Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this leader will oversee a team of approximately 50 FTEs.
  • Ideal candidates will embody dynamic leadership, possessing a strategic vision, and adeptness in cultivating relationships and collaborative work with leadership. Seeking an individual with a profound understanding of the nuanced dynamics within the department and the desire to support when urgency is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Extensive experience (8+ years) in healthcare IT leadership roles, with a proven track record of success in driving IT strategy and innovation. Prior CIO experience is required.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory requirements, such as HIPAA, NIST, HITECH, and CMS regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience in vendor management, contract negotiation, and budget management.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CHCIO, CPHIMS, CISSP) are a plus.
