The Position
  • The Associate CMIO is responsible for supporting the development, implementation and use of clinical information systems to assist clinicians in the delivery of the highest quality and most appropriate patient care within the acute care services offered by Baptist Health
  • Practicing as a Hospitalist, this role will work closely with and be seen as a medical informatics leader for the Hosptialists group 
  • Represents the needs and requirements of the clinical community and serves as an advocate for the medical staff, promoting the use of information technology in the clinical setting
  • Partners with Clinical Informatics, Information Services (IS) and with members of operations and administration to translate clinician requirements into specifications for new clinical support and research systems
  • Key goals include evaluating hospitalist workflow, ensuring efficiency of documentation tools, and dedicating time to each facility to learn complexities as well as develop collaborative relationships with all physicians throughout the system
  • Upward mobility potential to be part of the succession planning for the Chief Medical Information Officer role
  • Must be a licensed and board certified physician with a minimum 5-10 year history of medical practice
