The Position

  • The Director of Surgical Services will be responsible for the oversight of day-to-day operations throughout the department and will oversee approximately 95+ FTEs throughout multiple units including SPD, PACU, Outpatient, Recovery, and Surgical Services. 
  • Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Director of Surgical Services will oversee a wide array of procedures including cardiac, bariatric, neurology, spinal, robotics, and general surgery procedures.  
  • This position is responsible for evaluating staff competencies, department policies, and procedures to ensure best practices are in place while enforcing a high level of accountability throughout the department.
  • This leader will examine current processes and models of care, conduct analysis to determine areas needing improvement, and improve quality and safety metrics.
  • Seeking a servant leader to establish credibility with surgeons and staff members while focusing on mentoring and coaching staff, championing the community and patient-focused culture, while building collaborative relationships within the department. 
  • This leader must bring excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills to optimize departmental performance while achieving both short-and-long-term goals.  

Requirements

  • Master's degree is required.
  • Active RN license is required. 
  • A minimum of five years of supervisory experience is required.
