Chief Executive Officer
Community Hospice Inc. (CHI) in Modesto, CA is seeking a mission-driven, servant leader to join the organization as Chief Executive Officer. CHI is a nonprofit organization that has served residents in the Greater San Joaquin Valley since 1979. Community Hospice offers dignified and compassionate end-of-life medical, spiritual, psychological and emotional care. Utilizing an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, volunteers, and others, Community Hospice is committed to providing compassionate and quality care to patients and their families, regardless of ability to pay.
The mission of CHI is to embrace individuals and families facing life-changing journeys, enhancing quality of life for all.
CHI serves about 2,000 terminally ill patients as well as their families annually. CHI employs over 250 staff, including physicians, nurses, home health aides, social workers, chaplains, dietitians and bereavement specialists as well as many administrative staff, and is supported by more than 500 active volunteers. The CEO is responsible for Corporate Compliance, Risk Management, clinical compliance, financial reporting, audits and integrity of all financial transactions, philanthropy activities and fund development, and human resource management and having the authority of selection, removal and supervision of all employees of the organizations. The CEO is also responsible for leading the development and execution of strategic plans and objectives, effective collaboration with Board members and assist with Board governance and recruitment.
This position reports to the Community Hospice, Inc. Board of Directors, Community Hospice Foundation Board of Directors and CHI Management, Inc. Board of Directors. This position supervises the Chief Clinical Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Director of Information Technology, Director of Sales and Marketing, Director of Human Resources, Director of Strategic Planning, Director of Business Development, Executive Director of Community Hospice Foundation, Director of Retail Operations and Executive Assistant.
Modesto is geographically at California’s heart. While Modesto has transformed into one of the largest cities in California with more than 208,839 residents, it has retained its old-world charm and traditional values.
