The Opportunity

Valley Health System in Ridgewood, NJ is seeking a Chair of Women’s Services for Valley Medical Group. Valley Health System consists of The Valley Hospital, a 388-bed full-service acute care community hospital; Valley Home Care, and Valley Medical Group, the System’s rapidly growing primary care and multispecialty group. Women’s Services provides comprehensive, compassionate care to women from adolescence and childbearing years, through menopause and beyond. Women’s Services combines the best of community-based, patient, and family centered care with a range of subspecialty expertise not often seen in community hospital environments including general OB/GYN, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Reproductive Endocrinology, Urogynecology, and Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery.


The Position

The Chair of Women’s Services will be responsible for providing leadership to approximately 40 physicians and other clinical providers of the Valley Medical Group’s Women’s Service Line. In collaboration with Valley Health System and Valley Medical Group leadership, the Chair will have primary responsibility for the delivery of clinical services including budget management, utilization, quality assurance, evidence-based medicine initiatives, medical protocol development, human resources issues, clinical and operational practice initiatives as well as service line governance. The Chair will be responsible for establishing partnerships and other formal relationships with non-employed (private) members of the Valley Hospital Medical Staff that are consistent with the mission and vision of Valley Health System. The Chair will develop and implement a strategic plan for Women’s Services and will play an active role in philanthropic development for the service line.


Qualifications

  • Must be an M.D. or D.O., Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and subspecialty if applicable. Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of New Jersey.
  • An MBA, MMM, MPH or MHA is a plus.
  • A minimum of seven years of postgraduate clinical experience in the clinical practice of obstetrics and gynecology, including three or more years in a leadership role.
  • Has established a high level of credibility among his or her peers as a clinical leader.
