An exciting opportunity to oversee a newly formed joint venture between two of Virginia’s top healthcare providers as Chief Executive Officer

The Position
  • The Chief Executive Officer sets the vision/direction for the 114-bed, free standing inpatient rehabilitation facility set to open in Spring 2020
  • The Chief Executive Officer oversees operations for the institute, consolidating three inpatient sites into a single hospital
  • The CEO has a proven track record of senior leadership experience, business and financial acumen, and the ability to establish trust and credibility through open and transparent communication
  • Master’s degree and 10+ years’ in healthcare leadership are required
  • Prior experience in a rehabilitation hospital or academic medical center is strongly preferred

The Organization
  • In May 2018, Sheltering Arms Rehabilitation Hospitals and VCU Health broke ground on the Sheltering Arms Institute, the product of a joint venture to provide a state-of-the-art, inpatient rehabilitation services to residents of Virginia and surrounding communities
  • The 212,000-square foot institute is slated to open in 2020, featuring 114 private rooms for patients suffering strokes, spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, neurological disorders and those seeking general rehabilitative care
  • Sheltering Arms Rehabilitation Hospitals and VCU Health will consolidate several locations, including two Sheltering Arms facilities and VCU Health’s inpatient rehab units into the new facilty
  • The $95 million facility will be located in Goochland County near the Greater Richmond Area, operating under a 55/45 ownership agreement between Sheltering Arms and VCU Health, respectively
