The Position

• The Director of Supply Chain Management will be responsible for directing and coordinating of purchasing, central supply, receiving, and storage initiatives for Phelps Health.  
• The Director of Supply Chain Management will strive to provide and maintain a clean, neat, and safe environment and will assess multiple departments while implementing improvement plans based on performance, cleanliness, and safety to ensure that all appropriate quality improvement/control programs are followed. 
• This leader will prepare and present monthly reports, including cost variance/analyses reports, and will develop both capital and operational budgets while initiating cost reduction strategies to achieve implemented financial goals. 
• The Director will coordinate new employee orientation throughout the department while ensuring competency through skill validation, interviews, and selection processes. 
• This leader will closely monitor quality outcomes and will implement necessary strategic plans to ensure that accreditation standards are consistently met and are aligned with local, state, and federal compliance regulations. 
• The Director will ensure a positive, collaborative, and efficient work environment and will be willing to provide training, education, and mentorship to staff members throughout the department to maximize work performance and employee engagement. 
• Candidates will ideally bring excellent communication skills in addition to strong emotional intelligence to ensure that they will be able to create trusting, positive, and collaborative relationships with staff, physicians, and executive leadership. 

Requirement

• Bachelor’s degree is required.  
• Minimum of 5+ years of purchasing experience in addition to 2+ years of managerial experience is required.
