Summary

Santa Ynez Tribal Health Clinic in Santa Ynez, California is looking for a Behavioral Health Director to join their team and help make a positive impact on the entire community!

 

The Position

  • The Behavioral Health Director will participate and oversee day-to-day operations of the Behavioral Health department, working to serve patients and their families, through treatment, referrals, and oversight of their cases.
  • Reporting to the Chief Health Officer (CHO), this leader will oversee a team of six direct reports.
  • As the Behavioral Health Director, this leader will provide patient care on a daily basis along with managing the overarching administrative responsibilities.
  • This leader will also be asked to perform an analysis of the department, identify operational shortfalls, and work together with staff and CHO to implement a strategic improvement plan. Other duties include monthly reporting, and oversight of grant programs.
  • The ideal candidate will be a strong, visible leader, and be capable of working with/seeing patients on a regular basis. Must learn and listen to the team needs and be a team player. 
  • This position is a fully, onsite role, no option for hybrid or remote work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Advance degree, PhD or PhyD in Clinical Psychology, and licensed in the state of CA or LCSW required. 
  • Must possess a minimum of 10 years’ experience working in a Behavioral Healthcare setting. Knowledge of Dual-Diagnosis is a plus.
  • Tribal experience preferred, but not required.

The Organization

  • The Santa Ynez Tribal Health Clinic is located on the reservation of the Santa Ynez Band of Mission Indians, a federally recognized tribe.
  • The Clinic is a stand-alone subsidiary, and their mission is to specialize in the highest standards of quality health care through modern medicine and cultural traditions.
  • The Clinic sees approximately 17,000 patient visits annually by providing medical, dental, and behavioral health services to a local population of about 2,700 patients, mainly Native Americans and low-income people of diverse ethnicity, including many Hispanic/Latino agricultural workers. The clinic offers medical and dental care and community health education activities designed to enhance health awareness and practices in the Native American Community
  • The Santa Ynez Tribal Health Clinic has achieved mature contractor status with the Indian Health Service and the Bureau of Indian Affairs. The Clinic is a certified FQHC (Federally Qualified Health Center) Medi-Cal/Medicare facility.
