The Position

  • The Director of Nursing Operations & Clinical Innovations will be responsible for the planning, coordinating, and implementation of day-to-day operations pertaining to patient care services.    
  • This data-driven leader will have direct oversight of Nursing Operations including nursing float pool, staffing, patient accommodations, DACU, escort, administrative supervisors, and patient flow/length of stay. 
  • Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), the Director will serve as a representative of the CNO when interacting with committees, task forces, and project teams.  
  • The Director will oversee a wide array of ongoing operational initiatives including strategic plans, nursing resource management, and the design and implementation of current operations programs. 
  • This position is responsible for leveraging data to evaluate staff competencies, department policies, patient flow, and length of stay (LOS) to ensure best practices are in place while enforcing a high level of accountability throughout the department.
  • The Director will collaborate closely with the Finance Department and will have oversight of the planning and coordination of annual budgets for both Patient Care Services Administration and to the Patient Care Services Division. 
  • This leader will examine current processes and models of care, conduct analysis to determine areas needing improvement, and improve quality and safety metrics.
  • Seeking a knowledgeable leader to establish positive working relationships throughout the department while simultaneously assuming responsibility for his/her own professional and leadership development.  

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree is preferred; master’s degree is strongly preferred. 
  • A minimum of four years progressive experience within an acute care setting is required.
