Seeking an Interim Infection Preventionist for a hospital in historic Virginia.

The Position

  • The Interim Infection Preventionist will be responsible for coordinating the development and evaluation of the organization's infection prevention and control strategies.
  • Monitors local, state and federal regulations and ensures compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies 'standards and requirements. Participates in the development of the infection prevention program, and identification of action plans to reduce risk from hospital acquired infections.
  • Identifies and implements infection prevention and control strategies re: hand hygiene, cleaning, disinfection and sterilization, risks associated diagnostic procedures and devices, recalls, barrier precautions, use of patient care products and equipment, and the influx of patients with communicable diseases.
  • Maintains communication with emergency response authorities/regulatory bodies and report exposure and investigation results promptly to appropriate services when identified.


  • CIC certification through APIC required, BSN required, Covid and Flu Vax Required.
