Arrowhead Regional Medical Center chooses Dr. Reza Sadeghian as Chief Medical Information Officer after an executive search conducted by B.E. Smith.

Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) recently welcomed an energetic and clinically focused Chief Medical Information Officer in Dr. Reza Sadeghian. He will steer all hospital affairs regarding clinical informatics and electronic medical records with a focus on driving population health and improving patient outcomes.

In a search led by B.E. Smith, Dr. Sadeghian, presented with a multifaceted background as a physician informatician practicing general pediatrics in inpatient and outpatient settings. For ARMC, he brings extensive experience as a health care consultant, having led ICD-10 conversion efforts and assisted in various Lean-based system workflow designs and implementations throughout his career.

B.E. Smith presented five candidates within 75 days, with three going in for interviews. After the first round of interviews, Dr. Raj Subbiah, Chief Medical Officer for ARMC, saw Dr. Sadeghian’s EPIC implementation experience as a major asset for the organization.

“Dr. Sadeghian’s unique experience previously implementing a new EHR as well as his clinical informatics background was reassuring to our organization that we made the right choice,” Dr. Subbiah said. “As we are looking at implementation, which is a big financial expenditure for a hospital, we want to make sure we get the right person that can help drive that endeavor.”

Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, ARMC is a 456-bed, university-affiliated teaching hospital, located in Colton, Calif., and less than an hour from Los Angeles.
