Arrowhead Regional Medical Center Retains B.E. Smith in search for Chief Medical Information Officer

Create change as Chief Medical Information Officer with Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, a Level II Trauma Center one hour outside Los Angeles.

The Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) will development of the strategic plans regarding clinical information systems at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, while ensuring ongoing communication among physicians in terms of effectively managing existing clinical computerized processes. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and the Chief Medical staff, the CMIO will help transition to the new EMR and will act as a change agent to guide medical staff and the medical school through technology upgrades. 

As a senior leader, the CMIO will take the opportunity to learn this fluid Academic Public Hospital while leaving a positive mark on the community. This position must be a licensed, practicing physician for one of the Medical Center’s physician corporations.

Qualifications

  • Clinical Informatics Certification and/or a Master’s degree preferred
  • The ideal candidate is a clinician first, CMIO second – must be a practicing physician leader with experience working in clinical informatics
  • Minimum one year of work experience in medical informatics; in lieu of graduate training in medical informatics, a minimum of three years’ work experience in medical informatics systems may be acceptable
  • License to practice medicine in California; board certified by the appropriate specialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties
