Why This Webinar is Important

Women physicians are growing in number and now comprise over one-third of the physician workforce. The number of women physicians in academic medicine has increased correspondingly, but women remain underrepresented in the leadership ranks.  Career advancement for women physicians (i.e., promotion, tenure, and movement into leadership) has lagged for a variety of reasons; some of the factors include unconscious and conscious bias and discrimination, gender-based compensation disparities, and lack of sponsorship and career mentorship. This webinar will explore strategies for expanding the number of women leaders in academic medicine, and the proactive measures women can take to manage their career development.
